Following on the overwhelming success of last year's Mt. Sima Slamfest, the dirt crew from the North have pulled out all the stops to serve up a 3-day festival of riding and racing for 2009. Slamfest II unleashes an all-new machine built DH course, XC race as well as Mad March Racing on location with skills camps, a cash purse for podium racers, beer gardens and a lot more.
July 31 - August 2. Whitehorse, Yukon will be the place to ride.

Mt. Sima and the Contagious Mountain Bike Club have teamed up again this year to bring an entire mountain riding festival to the North. Mt. Sima ski hill and recreation area is located minutes outside of Whitehorse, in the beautiful Yukon Territory. 2008 showcased a grass-roots inspired DH race, with outstanding results. For 2009, the Slamfest has grown by leaps and bounds!
This year will see the addition of XC events to the calendar, as well as a thorough overhaul of last year's DH course. Crews have been busy prepping and buffing a new track, so be ready to bring your A-game!
The 2009 Slam-festival will also have pro-coaches from Mad March Racing on hand throughout the weekend, to provide personalized skills development for riders from novice to expert. MMR specializes in providing top-notch mountain bike training for men, women, youths and kids in both XC and DH disciplines. There's no better time to get out and ride with the pros!

Damn, too bad I didn't hear about this one earlier. I've been looking for an excuse for a holiday to the North, and this would have been the perfect one.
